Objectives of the Position:

To lead the Agricultural Research Station (ARS), Bay Laguna Insecticide Research team and serve as the contact and collaborator for receiving outside research requests from internal clients (chemists and biologists) from the various BASF research sites such as Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, USA; Germany; and Navi, Mumbai.
To liaise with internal BASF customer groups and convert customer needs into product solutions.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

Manage the BASF ARS, Bay, Laguna Global Insecticide Research and Development program through careful planning, designing and implementation of its research platforms in accordance with the company policies, guidelines, and standards.
Regularly evaluate and improve the existing insecticide research platforms by developing new and innovative research methodologies and techniques both in the laboratory and field.
Critically analyze and interpret laboratory and field trials results making sure that each research finding creates value to BASF. This is done by ensuring that research data are managed, reported on a timely manner, and are securely stored in their respective databases such as LabBooQ, MSTeams/Sharepoint and SPEAD- ARM.
Manage, coach and mentor Research Scientists, Research Assistants and Field Technicians ensuring safety, health, and work-life balance in the workplace.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with post Graduate Degree in Entomology or related field.
With at least 5 years relevant experience in crop pest control or research in insect biology in a commercial environment, including management of a team.
Possess breadth and depth of knowledge in insecticide research including insectary management and host plant production.
Possess network in both private and government institutions (e.g., universities/academes, government structures, research institutes, etc.)
Willing to handle compounds of unknown toxicity safely.
Proven ability to promote a safe work environment within teams.
Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Possess strong strategic planning and project management skills.
With excellent skills in relationship building, interpersonal communication and personal presentation.
Possess high level of energy and able to maintain stable performance under pressure.
Demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and integrity at work.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
