Transmission Engineer

Transmission Line Engineer - LATAM

Our client is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to join their growing engineering team. This role will be responsible for supporting the analysis, design, and execution of overhead transmission line projects for utility and energy clients.

The ideal candidate will have experience in transmission line design, power systems, and engineering project delivery, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform and coordinate transmission line engineering activities for new and existing overhead transmission projects. - Complete engineering analysis, calculations, and design work associated with transmission line systems. - Provide technical support to internal stakeholders, customers, and project teams. - Review project requirements and specifications and recommend design improvements when necessary. - Solve complex engineering challenges related to transmission line design and construction. - Prepare technical reports, analyses, calculations, and presentations. - Perform and oversee transmission line calculations, including: - Sag-tension analysis - Wire blowout calculations - Swing angle analysis - Damper recommendations - Conductor and wire selection - Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting project schedules and deadlines. - Collaborate with engineering, sales, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution. - Travel occasionally to customer sites to support project meetings, technical presentations, and project development activities.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with an emphasis in Power Systems. - Experience working on utility, transmission, or power infrastructure projects. - Familiarity with transmission line design software such as: - PLS-CADD - SAG10 - ETAP - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
