Tax Preparer — Full-time Remote

We're seeking a senior Tax Preparer with deep expertise in U.S. tax law to prepare accurate returns and provide strategic tax guidance for a real estate accounting firm. You'll analyze QuickBooks data, calculate complex tax items independently (e.G., Pass-Through Entity Tax optimization), and serve as a trusted advisor to our team and clients. You'll work directly with our EST-based leadership and integrate seamlessly into our in-house systems.

Responsibilities:

- Analyze client QuickBooks data to prepare comprehensive, accurate tax returns

- Independently calculate complex tax items and optimize tax strategy for clients

- Identify tax planning opportunities based on client financial position and goals

- Ensure all returns comply with current U.S. federal and state tax regulations

- Communicate tax findings and recommendations clearly to internal team and clients

- Stay current with evolving tax law changes and regulatory updates

- Maintain detailed, organized documentation of all tax work and calculations

What We Are Looking For:

- 7+ years of tax preparation experience with a strong grasp of U.S. federal and state tax law

- Proven ability to analyze QuickBooks data and independently calculate complex tax scenarios

- Expert-level knowledge of pass-through entity taxation, real estate tax considerations, and advanced tax strategies

- Strong communication skills: able to explain tax concepts clearly to both team members and clients

- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

- Excellent written and verbal English communication

- Must be located in an EST timezone country (e.G., Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Panama)

- Self-motivated and comfortable working as a fully integrated remote team member

What the Role Is Not:

- Not data entry—strategic tax analysis and planning are core to this role

- Not form-filling—we need someone who understands tax law deeply and can optimize client outcomes

- Not hourly task work—we're hiring a trusted tax professional, not a contractor
