Technical Project Manager

We work with high-volume operational data and need clear, trusted reporting that helps teams move quickly and make better decisions. About the Role The Technical Project Manager will work closely with engineering and collaborate with client experience, operations, and leadership to manage technical projects from planning through completion. This person should be organized, clear, and comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This is not a purely administrative project management role. The right person should understand enough about software, APIs, data, incident management, change management, and technical dependencies to ask good questions, spot blockers, and help teams stay aligned. Familiarity with ITIL practices is important, especially around incident management, change management, service management, problem management, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Manage technical projects across engineering, product, and operations. Help define project scope, timelines, milestones, owners, and priorities. Track progress and make sure work is moving forward. Identify blockers, risks, and dependencies early. Keep stakeholders updated on status, changes, and next steps. Coordinate technical work involving APIs, data, internal tools, customer workflows, IT systems, and integrations. Help organize Jira tickets, documentation, meeting notes, and follow-ups. Make sure decisions, requirements, and action items are clearly documented. Support launch planning, testing coordination, and rollout communication. Support incident follow-ups, change coordination, and post-implementation reviews. Help improve lightweight processes around service delivery, technical operations, and project execution. Improve processes that help the team move faster without adding unnecessary overhead. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in technical project management, project management, product operations, engineering operations, engineering project management, or a similar role. Experience working with software engineering teams. Familiarity with ITIL practices, including incident management, change management, problem management, service management, and continuous improvement. Strong understanding of basic technical concepts such as APIs, databases, integrations, cloud systems, IT systems, and production releases. Strong communication and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities. Able to turn unclear problems into clear next steps. Experience using tools like Jira Software, Confluence, Slack, GitHub, Jira Service Management, or similar platforms. Required Skills ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent practical experience. Experience in fintech, payments, fraud prevention, chargebacks, banking, or risk. Experience working on customer integrations or partner integrations. Basic SQL knowledge. Experience working at a startup or small fast-moving company. Familiarity with compliance, reporting, audits, service management, or operational workflows. What Success Looks Like Projects have clear owners, timelines, and next steps. Engineering has fewer interruptions caused by unclear requirements or missing coordination. Leadership has better visibility into what is being worked on, what is blocked, and what needs a decision. Teams are aligned before launches, production changes, and major operational updates. Incidents, changes, and follow-up actions are tracked clearly. Work gets delivered more consistently without adding unnecessary process.
