Lead Software Engineer

We are looking to hire a Senior Payments Engineer to help build a next-generation payment orchestration platform.

Our company operates in the payments space today, and this role will be instrumental in designing and building the infrastructure that sits between merchants, gateways, processors, and acquiring banks. The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on experience with modern payment platforms such as Adyen and/or Stripe and understands payment flows at a systems level. Key Areas of Experience Direct experience building integrations with Adyen and/or Stripe APIs Experience with payment orchestration, intelligent routing, gateway abstraction, and multi-processor environments Deep understanding of card processing, authorization flows, settlement processes, tokenization, vaulting, recurring billing, and end-to-end payment lifecycle management Strong backend engineering background, including API architecture, distributed systems, scalability, reliability, and performance optimization Experience with PCI compliance, fraud prevention, risk controls, payment security, and regulatory requirements Proven track record building payment infrastructure and core payment systems—not simply consuming third-party payment APIs Preferred / Bonus Experience Merchant acquiring, sponsor bank relationships, ISO/MSP environments, or PayFac (Payment Facilitator) models High-volume transaction processing systems Alternative payment methods, ACH, digital wallets, and international payment processing Building payment gateways, gateway routing engines, processor-agnostic payment platforms, or payment orchestration layers Role Expectations This individual will play a key role in architecting the platform, making critical technical decisions, and owning significant portions of the payments infrastructure. We are looking for someone who can operate strategically at the systems-design level while remaining deeply technical and hands-on in implementation.
